The Unicef in collaboration with the Sindh Boy Scouts Association (SBSA) will initiate a project to impart knowledge to people in the earthquake-affected areas regarding hygiene and prevention of diseases.

A statement issued here on Sunday said the SBSA Provincial Secretary, Colonel Muhammad Ali Shah, had been appointed as a co-ordinator of the project.

It said the 60-day project would commence from November 7 and it would cover the five earthquake-affected districts of Muzzafarabad, Bagh, Manshera, Batgram and Rawlakot.

The statement further pointed out that more than 1,000 rover scouts of Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, PIA and Railways would perform duties in the earthquake-affected areas.

They would impart knowledge among the people regarding hygiene, health and prevention against contagious diseases and would thus contribute towards a healthy living atmosphere.

Pakistan Railways would provide free travel facility to these scouts up to Rawalpindi. The Unicef would make arrangements of their transportation from Islamabad to the affected areas as well as that of boarding.
